Pierre Camilien
Originally from Haiti, I studied Fine Arts at “St. Luc Institute of Arts and Architecture” in Brussels, and at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York. As a designer in New York for 10 years, my work was shown at “Table Top” in London, “Maison et Objets” in Paris and all major national craft shows. For the past six years, I studied hot glass at Urban Glass, The Studio in Corning Museum of Glass and, most recently, Pilchuck Glass School in Seattle.
Presently, I am an independent glass artist working in my studio in New York city and The Glass Pavilion in Toledo, Ohio. I use glass blowing and various carving techniques to translate an Iconic vision based on graphics, patterns and symbols related to my mixed cultural heritage.
