Michigan artist Susan Morosky’s enthusiasm for the physical act of painting is vividly showcased in these remarkably inspired works in acrylic on canvas.  At first blush these works appear as abstraction.  Further examination reveals the artist’s love of nature and the landscape.  With perhaps one toe dipped in the genre of landscape the artist takes the viewer on a hopeful and uplifting trip with an expertly applied gesture of brush and colour.  Beginning with the simpler concept of landscape Ms. Morosky allows the idea, the colour and the courage of nature to move her through the process of painting. In each painting, as in nature, there are passages of aggression followed by the smooth calm of a storm’s passing. Or as the warm heat of a sunny day reflects colored light from the field.

ONGOING EXHIBITION

Dominick Labino

Hudson Gallery is proud to announce its selection as representative to the estate of renowned glass artist and pioneer Dominick Labino (1910-1987).

One of the leading glass craftsmen in the country, Dominick Labino was also one of the most knowledgeable and innovative technicians in the field as well as a tireless and resourceful researcher into the mysterious and challenging properties of glass.  Due to Mr. Labino's years of research in glass fibers, glass formulas and furnace design, he made it possible for individual artists to make glass in their own studios.  Dominick Labino took early retirement from the glass industry and began his prolific career as a glass artist in his own studio in Grand Rapids, OH.  It was there that he made glass art that is now in museums around the world.
